Now it was the governor’s custom at the feast [of Passover] to release to the crowd a prisoner of their choosing. At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner named Barabbas. So when the crowd had assembled Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”… – (Matthew 27:15- 17)

But they all cried out in unison: “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!” (Barabbas had been imprisoned for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.) Wanting to release Jesus Pilate addressed them again but they kept shouting, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”… – (Luke 23:18- 21)

Barabbas.

Let us do a quick word study. This is the man Israel rejected Jesus for. This man of ill repute, a menace to society, known criminal and also (more shockingly) a murderer, rightfully caught and sitting on death row awaiting execution by one of the harshest punishments of the Roman era- crucifixion.

Barabbas. Full name JESUS Barabbas. Imagine that.

He had no redeeming qualities that we know of yet he managed to cheat death due to prophetic timing and luck – being that he fell into the hands of an overexcited crowd stirred up in part by the bloodthirsty Pharisees and in whole by Satan himself. He escaped the cross that no doubt had been prepared for him; Barabbas escaped death in exchange for Jesus who had done nothing but fulfill His Father’s commission. “Give us Barabbas! WE WANT BARABBAS!” they cried, and Barabbas experienced this scripture firsthand: ‘Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.’ The irony.

Pilate, the Roman governor who hated his posting in the hot, dusty, unruly and politically charged backwater that was ancient Palestine, stared at these wild people in confusion, decided it wasn’t his business, washed his hands in a basin, added the customary 40 stripes to Jesus prison record, and sent the Lamb of God to His destiny.

Barabbas.

Here is the message of the Lord:

I want them to know they will not have any helper. I want them to know they will not have any strength. I want them to know I have hated that they put their trust in man and not in Me. They will not have any protector nor any strong defense. I have already removed My hand from over them and soon the Barabbas they cried for will be revealed to them; they will have what they thought they wanted… but they will not want it anymore. 

The Lord has named this prophecy BARABBAS. America will receive a president, a ruler, a ‘fierce king’ (Daniel 8:23), an ‘outcome’, an event, a catastrophe, “an experience” of such negative, grave, dangerous and damaging proportions that she will regret what she cried for, insisted on, voted for, campaigned for, picketed for, rioted for, fought for, and changed all forms of reality for. She will regret exchanging the Hope of salvation for this sinful reality and ‘new identity’ she created for herself. Mystery Babylon. This is the word of the Lord: The perilous times have come. So be it.

In closing: “Barabbas” is when you lack the common sense, foresight and wisdom to desire, cry out for and fight for what is actually good and healing to you, and you cry and fight for the thing that in itself holds the seeds of your own graphic and imminent destruction. The death of Jesus brought salvation to the world but a devastating prophetic hammer blow of judgement on Israel- invasion, collapse, destruction of the Temple and the people scattered all over the known world. The tragedy in rejecting Jesus in favor of Barabbas meant that the one true hope of salvation was brutally cast away in favor of a man who did not deserve the popularity, clamour, noise or last minute rescue he got. Israel chose what was actually useless to her and God says America has by abandoning and rejecting Him done exactly the same. Therefore I am sent to declare that Barabbas is coming. America, your Barabbas will do everything the Lord has caused to be proclaimed on this end times prophecy blog- in full. Amen.
